HT Millennium Series

Towards the end of 1998, editor of Sunday Hindustan Times, Sumir Lal contacted me for a new page that he wanted to start for the paper. The page that was to appear on every Sunday, he told me, should look at technology trends in different areas. It should not be just official technology forecasts in terms of numbers and statistics nor be a commentary on very basic futuristic research. It should reflect how technology changes are going to impact lives of people as the new millennium begins. Thus was born the Millennium Page.

The page ran successfully till July 2000 – well into the new Millennium. Unfortunately, all the material is not available in digital form. So, here is the list of all the articles that I wrote for the Millennium page. There used to be three sections – the main piece, side bars called “Cutting Edge” and a smaller related story. Here titles of only the main article are given. I have most of the hard copies with me.
